A small works gallery and ponderings about brush and paint, by oil painter, Michelle Sonoqui Gillette

The paintings that are hung on these virtual walls, range from completed work, to works-in-progress. The process is a bit like fly fishing, as I work to push the paint and composition toward an abstract direction - only to reel it back in again, to find the sweet spot for detail and clarity.

Pigment and Brush - by Carol Black
Free from the burden of wrong or right,
we take up this journey
and walk boldly through each subtle path
of shadow and hue.
We fill our souls with each dazzling sight
of figure and form, drenched in shadow and light.
So thank you each one,
for your unspoken gifts,
a silent nod,
eye knowing,
a gentle prod,
seeds sowing;
and here's to sweet stillness,
and the reverent hush,
when souly inspired, pigment meets brush.
